Ted Turner Has Lost His Mind

I’m not sure if he ever had it in the first place, but that’s a topic for a different day. But seriously, did you hear what he said recently to Charlie Rose about global warming? Play the tape, Newsbusters:

We`ll have eight degrees — we`ll be eight degrees hotter in 10 — not 10, but in 30 or 40 years. And basically none of the crops will grow. Most of the people will have died, and the rest of us will be cannibals. Civilization will have broken down. The few people left will be living in a failed state like Somalia or Sudan, and living conditions will be intolerable.

Ted Turner Eats a Brain

Cannibals? Hey Ted Turner, I’m reading a book right now called The Black Swan, which basically says, anyone who makes long-term predictions is an idiot. You should check it out.

But Mr. Turner’s lunacy doesn’t stop there, as he goes on to suggest the entire world adopt a one-or-two-child policy:

We’re too many people. That’s why we have global warming. We have global warming because too many people are using too much stuff. If there were less people, they’d be using less stuff.

But we’ve got to stabilize population. On a voluntary basis, everybody in the world has got to pledge to themselves that one or two children is it.

Wow. Still don’t think liberals want to control your life? At least Mr. Turner was kind enough to say “on a voluntary basis,” as in, “On a voluntary basis, the planet requests that you abort your baby. Now.”

I hate to play the media-bias card on this, but can you imagine if Rupert Murdoch had said something this stupid? I’m sure you see where I’m going.

Lastly, let me remind you that Ted Turner was Time magazine’s 1991 “Man Person of the Year,” which means that my admiration and respect for winners of peer-voted awards, such as Time magazine’s “Person of the Year”, or the Nobel Peace Prize, or the Academy Awards for that matter, has pretty much gone totally to crap. Well, maybe not totally to crap — there’s still the Fields Medal.

I heart “The Ethan Show” - and what a clever name it is! I pledge to not eat you, or anyone else, even if it means I must take a fork & knife to my own leg!

Although, I’m not making any promises about domestic animals….
