Another “Flat-Earther” Speaks Out About Global Warming

Do I talk about global warming a lot? I do, but only because it’s such a shining example of a so-called “non-political” issue, which actually is entirely a political issue. Man-made global warming, and its “solutions,” were created by leftist environmental extremists as a roundabout way to puncture the economic dominance of the United States — and capitalism in general.

Don’t misinterpret me: I certainly don’t mean that everyone who believes in man-made global warming is an extremist, or a radical leftist. No, there’s plenty of good people unfortunately being fed terrible information; I don’t fault the people for that. (But I do fault the media — and Al Gore.)

So here’s what I believe is the correct way to approach man-made global warming: Don’t believe either side — period. Al Gore does not know for sure that man-made global warming exists; the other side does not know for sure that man-made global warming doesn’t exist.

Can someone really be privy to all the information necessary to make an irrefutable conclusion about global warming? The earth is roughly 4.5 billion years old, mankind is roughly 200,000 years old, reliable weather information is roughly 100 years old. Earth has seen ice ages and tropical periods — and man wasn’t around to have a hand in either. If chaos theory applies to weather conditions — which it most likely does — then the amount of variables involved in a planetary climate equation, for our practical purposes, may be damn near infinite.

So I don’t want to shut down either side of the argument. I mean, if mankind truly is causing global warming, and it may in fact have catastrophic consequences, I’d certainly like to know about it — wouldn’t you?

But I am opposed to one side of the argument shutting down the other side, which is what Al Gore and his followers are trying their best to do.

I’m not alone on this; here’s an article from the USA Today:

William Gray, the well-known Colorado State University hurricane forecaster, routinely uses the annual National Hurricane Conference as a platform to bash global warming. In a statement to Florida Today, Gray argued that the scientific consensus on global warming is bogus — and “a mild form of McCarthyism has developed toward those scientists who do not agree” that mankind is in danger.

“We are also brainwashing our children on the warming topic. We have no better example than Al Gore’s alarmists and inaccurate movie which is being shown in our schools and being hawked by warming activists with little or no meteorological-climate background,” Gray wrote.

The truth is out there, but we don’t know it yet. Stay skeptical.

Saw this on Digg. You make some valid points and, although I’m skeptical of man-made global warming, I think it’s better to side with skeptics than the believers if, for no other reason, than to stop this lifestyle control and carbon tax craze that’s sweeping the world (Canada is set to institute the first carbon tax in North America next month). But good article, nonetheless. I’m glad to see other articles on Digg that refute the whole global warming hoax.

    Ethan,

The following statement from your blog….”reliable weather information is roughly 100 years old”… with emphasis on ‘reliable’ isn’t exactly true. If you take the time to peruse http://www.wattsupwiththat.com, you will find that land based temperature records are anything but reliable. Please take the time.

Ah, another reason to be skeptical. Thanks for the contribution!

I really don’t believe anything anymore. One way or the other. You know what is happening in this world is that we as the people are not given all of the information to make an informed opinion. It is all he said she said.

Global Warming is going the way of Y2K and the Ozone Hole.I’m bored. New scare please. Take this one back…its boring and does not match my shoes. My shoes do not match my fashionable virtues and thus the whole outfit must be trashed for next weeks high fashion adopt an African child fad.
