Google Displays Anti-Christian Bias

It’s not the first time Google has been accused of a liberal bias — check out this link to learn more. The latest news deals with Google’s refusal to display Christian anti-abortion ads. Here’s the Daily Mail:

A Christian group is suing Google over the internet giant’s refusal to take its anti-abortion adverts.

The Christian Institute, a “non-denominational Christian charity”, wanted to pay Google so that whenever the word “abortion” was typed into the popular search engine, its link would appear on the side of the screen.

But Google refused the advert because it said it had a policy of declining sites which mixed the issue of abortion with religious views.

Google does, however, accept adverts for abortion clinics, secular pro-abortion sites and secularist sites which attack religion.

Sounds pretty cut and dry to me — Google doesn’t like pro-life religious groups. My response: tough luck, Christian groups!

Look, I’m not heartless (or anti-Christian), but Google is a private company; they should have the freedom to choose who they want to sell their ad space to. Please understand that Google’s ad space is their own private property — no one has a “right” to it.

This issue, for me, is not at all about abortion — it’s about a private company’s ability to determine what is best for them. Perhaps denying ad space to Christians will cause an uproar, and damage Google’s reputation. I’ll bet, in the future, Google will then allow Christian abortion ads. It’s the free market — it’s wonderful!

What if there was a popular Christian search engine, and a pro-abortion group wanted to place ads on their site. My evaluation is the same: leave it to the free market to find a solution.

So I say to the Christian groups: rescind your lawsuit, and take your business elsewhere; maybe to Yahoo!, or CNN.com, or another other highly-viewed website. Or try conservative blog and news sites, like Townhall.com, CNSNews.com, or WND.com. I’m sure they’d be glad to run your advertisement.

Or you know what — contact me; I’ll run your ads. And I only get about 100 views a day, so I can offer you one heck of a deal.

But please, no more lawsuits!
