FOX News Embellishes Al Qaeda Headline
Don’t get me wrong — if my TV is on, chances are FOX News is on. In other words, I like FOX News.
But I must admit, I was a little confused after seeing this:

That was a screen capture of FOX’s lead headline on their website at around 4:00 PM today. After viewing that, my first impression was: “Oh, this must be really important because it’s the first headline,” and my second impression was: “Hey, looks like our policies are defeating Al Qaeda.”
But wait a second — look up and read the small print under the headline. You’ll learn that Abu Ubaida al-Masri died of “natural causes.”
Will you agree with me that most people will only read the headline (the large text) and then relate this story to our war against Al Qaeda and assume that we had a role in al-Masri’s death? (As I initially did.)
So while “Al Qaeda ‘Liquid Bomb Master’ Dead in Pakistan” is an accurate sentence, I think there’s a little embellishment going on. But maybe it’s my own bias, and not any fault of FOX, that led me to my conclusion.
In any case, it’s just my opinion — and I’ve been wrong before.

So you’re saying that maybe Fox News isn’t quite as bias as you thought, and maybe it’s the viewers that are ignorant?

Ignorance? What are you talking about?
