Now, in Colorado, not only can you get a vanity license plate to show people how vain you are — like ‘ASSMAN‘ — but you can get a “green” vanity license plate to show people how vain and gullible you are!

To qualify for the plates, drivers will need to make a donation to the Colorado Carbon Fund, which is a voluntary carbon offset program being created by the Governor’s Energy Office. They will also need to pay $55.36 for the plate.

Oh, I get it — so for people to feel good about themselves, they need to donate money to some probably-bloated bureaucratic fund; and then they get a silly license plate that essentially says “I donated money to a probably-bloated bureaucratic fund — and now I feel good about myself!”

This is craziness. I’m sure some politician out there said something foolish, right?

“We can talk about it in government, and do all kinds of things from the top down, but unless people catch the vision and the interest and the desire and are motivated to do something themselves, not a whole lot is really going to be done,” [said Rep. Ken Summers (R-Lakewood)].

Ooooooh, catch the vision. Let me translate that for you — “get in line.”

Isn’t it funny how this government official (and others from the article) believe that only the government can “save us” from global warming? And only by giving money to the government can progress be made?
